Adventure #17 - Imperial Beach, Sea & Sand Festival

It's become a tradition.

This year we had more join us, making for a most wonderful day. Instead of walking around all day we set up a day camp. A place where we can come and go while enjoying the company, the sun, the waves, and the sandcastles.

We found the perfect spot between the pier and the lifeguard tower, just off to the side of all the activity up on the street and on the beach where the sandcastles were being built.

The older kids could come and go as they pleased, at the same time allowing the little's the freedom to splash and dig in the sand and play in the sea, just steps ahead of us.

They spent most of their day digging for sand crabs!

The sandcastles were being constructed just steps away as well.

Can you guess which sculpture was our favorite?

Of course, it was the Superman/Fireman!

It also won 1st Place

After a day of wave jumping, football tossing, sand crab digging fun, to the wonderful sculptures these teams created, was worth every discomfort a mild sunburn can produce. Thank God I remembered my sun hat!

We're already planning for next years festival.

In case you are interested, it July 13, 2019

Here are some random photos from our day.

...Time to get ready for our next adventure!
