Adventure #21 - Camping World Truck Race

On our way to the pickup spot for our adventure, we came across "Mater."

He's the tracks golfcart "Toe" Truck!

To cute!

Well, that was about the best part of our day!

The bus was late getting us, a whole three couples.
We were lead to believe it was a full bus.

It was a nice drive to the hotel.
There were lots of conversations between us.
Race fans have a way of being so friendly.
This was a perfect example.
We all met for the first time and began sharing stories.

Once at the hotel, we were each whisked away in other directions.

We had a nice young man as our guide.
We were escorted to our table and made our way to the buffet breakfast set up for us.
After breakfast, he got down to the reason why we were there.
Finally!
I don't know how many times we told him we were not ready to plunge into anything!
When he didn't get anywhere, he called in the "Closer"!
Told him the same thing, time and time again.
I began to wonder how many there were getting a carrot dangled in front of them!
They really made it a Vegas Production that is for sure!

I was so ticked off by the time we got to the tour, the only thing I could comment with was they had glorified hotel rooms.

I wonder what one looks like after a year of use.
I'm sure the decor shows wear and tear.

At 19% interest that was of no interest to me.
Even that didn't stop him from sending over another closer!
Really!
We were told 90 minutes!
We had been there 3 1/2 hours.
The races were going to be starting soon!

This was not the adventure we signed up for!

It took them another half hour and a walk entirely across the casino floor to receive our gift. Two suite passes for Saturday's race.

Then another 20 minutes for the bus to leave, and another 30 minutes of drive time.
By the time we got back to the trailer, our friends had to take an uber since we wouldn't be able to pick them up. With the wind blowing, our temperatures were rising; we just watched the races in the trailer after we went shopping for the weekend food.

The one thing that stands out from this day was, I NEVER took a single photo other than Mater!

It's okay!
We can have one bad experience after 20 wonderful ones.

Tomorrow is going to be better, and we will have a fun time!
